In order to marry in Ontario, you must first apply for a marriage licence.
The Marriage Licence Fee is $100.00 payable by cheque, cash or interac.
Important information:

• At least one party to the proposed marriage must apply in person. However, the complete marriage application must be signed by both applicants.
• We require that both parties provide 2 of the following proof of identification, one of which must contain a photo:
- Birth Certificate
- Passport
- Baptismal Paper
- Driver's Licence
• If one or both parties have been divorced in Canada, we require:
- The original or court-certified copy of the final decree, judgement or certificate of  divorce. (An uncertified copy is not acceptable.).
If either party has a box number as an address, the 911 address needs to be provided
The application requires the intended place of marriage: Municipality and the County where the ceremony will be performed.

We also request to know the date the license will be picked up, and which party to the marriage will be picking up the license.

Once issued, a Marriage License is valid throughout Ontario for a period of three (3) months from the date of issue.
