Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week, November 1-7 

Beat the Silent Killer: Prevent CO in Your Home
Township of Southgate –October 20th, 2016 Ontario’s Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week runs from November 1-7, and the Dundalk Fire Department reminds you to prevent carbon monoxide (CO) in your home by getting all fuel-burning appliances inspected annually.

Carbon Monoxide Detectors

As of April 15, 2015 new Ontario legislation mandates that all residences in the province be equipped with a working Carbon Monoxide alarm. Carbon Monoxide cannot be seen, and has no smell or taste. Symptoms can occur in less than 20 minutes if concentrations become to high. Click the link below for more information on Carbon Monoxide.

Winter Tips:  

Winter is almost here, If you are burning wood it is time to clean your chimney and check it regularly throughout the winter season and clean as necessary. Make sure you have a working carbon monoxide alarm and a working smoke alarm on every level of your home and outside sleeping areas. fire alarm
