Council Highlights - December 4, 2024

·       A public meeting was held for an application to rezone a portion of the subject lands located at Con 3 SWTSR Lot 224 to 225 to permit a 750 metre dry industrial workshop and related 500 square metre dry industrial shop ad storage as on an farm diversified use secondary to an agricultural use on-site including a new farmhouse and livestock barn.

·       Council approved a Community Improvement Plan funding application for Southgate Eye Care, to provide funding for planning fees and structural improvements to the property located at 20 Main St E, Dundalk ON, in the amount of $10,600 on condition that the applicant receive all applicable planning and building approvals.

·       Council appointed Michael Lansdell as a Building Inspector for the Township of Southgate and welcomed Michael to the team!

·       Council approved the Interim Tax Levy by-law for 2025, with the tax levy installment dates being March 28, 2025 and June 27, 2025. The by-law can be viewed here.

·       Deputy Mayor Dobreen provided an update on the most recent County of Grey Council meeting. Highlights from the November 28, 2024 County Council meeting can be viewed here.

·       Deputy Mayor Dobreen noted that the Mayor Matrosovs from the Town of Blue Mountains was acclaimed as the 2025 Grey County Warden at the annual inaugural meeting on December 3, 2024 and extended her thanks to Mayor Milne for being the Warden for the past two terms.

·       Deputy Mayor Dobreen mentioned that the Dundalk Santa Claus Parade is Saturday December 7, 2024 at 6:00PM, and the Holstein Santa Claus Parade is Saturday December 14, 2024 at 1:00PM.
