Township Receives $3.4 million in Provincial Funding for Dundalk Wastewater Treatment System
DUNDALK -- The Township of Southgate is pleased to share that $3.4-million in provincial funding has been awarded for the Phase 1 expansion of the Dundalk Wastewater Treatment Facility.
The funding, announced by Rick Byers, MPP for Bruce--Grey--Owen Sound, was awarded through the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund, and will help the Township prepare for future growth, enabling up to 2,300 new homes.
"I am ever-grateful to the provincial government for this vital investment in Dundalk," said Southgate Mayor Brian Milne. "The reality for growing communities is clear -- in order to build more housing and create more jobs, we need the infrastructure to do it. Today's announcement exemplifies that. I would like to thank our outgoing MPP, Rick Byers, and the Hon. Kinga Surma, for their work in ensuring today's announcement was possible."
Work is expected to get underway in late 2025 to prepare for the system expansion.
