Civic Address Requests (Fire Number) |
A civic address, often referred to as a "fire number" identifies the location of a property. If you have a property that does not currently have a civic address issued, you can apply for one at the Township of Southgate office. Civic addresses are beneficial for property identification in the event of an emergency, when you call 9-1-1, the operator needs your civic address to send emergency services. If you are constructing a new building on a piece of land that currently has no civic address, a building permit will not be granted until an entrance and civic address are in place. Your civic address may be different from your mailing address. If you don't know your civic address, or you require a new one for a piece of property, please contact our office. |
